Principal's Message

Welcome back ILC Eagles to a wonderful and exciting new school year, 2024-2025!       

Welcome,  the Intensive Learning Center is a state of California Gold Ribbon School and a recipient of the California PBIS Recognition implementation  System at the silver level. The goal of our school is to provide interactive teaching that incorporates Direct Interactive Instruction and focuses on student engagement throughout our instructional day. Students participate in lessons by being ready for random calling, engaging with partners, working with small groups, and volunteering to share. We also have the Spanish Dual Immersion Program. Our program strives to meet the goals of bilingualism, biliteracy, and cross-cultural competence.

Teachers focus on building mastery of concepts through the gradual release of responsibility and creating a community of learners. Our Response to Intervention program tailors instruction to the individual literacy needs of all students. Students are divided into small groups and literacy skills focus on letter identification, blending letters/sounds, decoding, academic vocabulary, fluency, comprehension, and writing. We have interactive ViewSonic boards in all classrooms, and use mobile Chromebooks in our daily instruction. All students have access to  individual devices. Teachers and students effectively use technology to maximize instructional time.

We thoroughly enjoy serving our community, providing quality instruction to our students, and leading them to become productive members of society, developing an appreciation of other cultures, being ready to excel in college, a career, and being globally competitive through their experiences at the Intensive Learning Center!
