Spanish Dual Language Immersion

ILC offers a Spanish Dual Language Immersion program designed to help participating students become bilingual and biliterate while developing cross-cultural understanding and competence.

AVID: College and Career Readiness

All ILC classes participate in Advancement Via Individual Determination (AVID). AVID supports students through rigorous learning opportunities, strong organizational habits, and a welcoming environment where every student feels a sense of belonging.

Every student is provided with an individual Chromebook to support learning, collaboration, and access to digital resources.

Students have access to a variety of learning opportunities beyond the classroom, including:

• Music for Transitional Kindergarten through fourth grade
• Chorus or band for fifth- and sixth-grade students
• Weekly library visits for primary students
• Physical education
• Student Leadership opportunities for upper-grade students

ILC is committed to providing high-quality, grade-level, standards-aligned instruction for every student. Our teachers work collaboratively within grade levels and across grade levels to create meaningful, rigorous learning experiences.

Our staff includes dedicated educators and specialists who support students’ academic, social, emotional, and communication needs, including:

• Principal and assistant principal
• School counselor
• Instructional specialists and intervention teachers
• Special education specialists
• School psychologist
• Physical education teacher
• Music teacher
• Speech and language specialist

All certificated staff meet California credential requirements, and many hold advanced degrees and have completed coursework beyond their bachelor’s degrees.

At ILC, our school climate is safe, orderly, respectful, and supportive. We use Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) to help students make positive choices, demonstrate respect, and actively participate in learning.

Students can earn Gotcha Tickets for demonstrating S.O.A.R. behavior. Gotcha Tickets may be used to earn prizes from the Gotcha Store on Fridays.

We believe students thrive when they feel valued, connected, and responsible for their learning and their community.

A strong home-school connection is essential to student success. We welcome parents, caregivers, and community members as active partners in our school community.

Our PTA is talented, dedicated, and actively involved in organizing activities and opportunities for ILC students and families. Visit the PTA page to learn more and find ways to get involved.

• School begins at 8:00 a.m.
• Breakfast is served in the cafeteria beginning at 7:30 a.m.
• Free YMCA supervision is available beginning at 6:30 a.m. in the cafeteria.
• Flag Salute Assembly takes place every Monday morning.
• School ends at 2:30 p.m. on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday.
• School ends at 1:06 p.m. every Wednesday.

• Uniforms are required for all students.
• Visit the 'Families' tab and select Procedures and Policies for uniform details.
• Students may wear ILC spirit shirts on Fridays.

• Physical education takes place on Tuesdays, Fridays, and alternate Wednesdays.
• TK–fourth-grade students participate in music on Mondays, Thursdays, and alternate Wednesdays.
• Fifth- and sixth-grade students participate in chorus or band each week.
• Primary students visit the library weekly.
• TK and kindergarten students have recess and lunch separately from other grade levels.
• Upper-grade students may have opportunities to participate in Student Leadership.

Families are encouraged to connect with our active PTA and participate in school events, activities, and volunteer opportunities throughout the year.
