Physical Education
ILC Eagles get active and learn about healthy lifestyle choices during Physical Education each week. Students participate in fun physical activities on Tuesdays, Fridays, and alternating Wednesdays. They keep fit, while interacting with peers through:
- Soccer
- Basketball
- Dancing
- Football
- Court Hockey
- Scoops and Flying Discs
- Locomotor movements
- Fundamentals of sports
Our P.E. staff collaborated with PTA during our annual Fit-A-Thon. Students ran laps, and had a great time doing jumping jacks, sit ups, and push ups. Our Fit-A-Thon emphasized the importance of regular exercise, while raising funds for our PTA.
Each year our fifth graders participate in physical fitness testing that measures their abilities through:
- Sit ups
- Pacer
- Trunk Lift
- Push ups
- Sit and Reach
- Shoulder Stretch
All students have a great time playing and learning new skills during P.E. each week. They learn the value of teamwork as they are challenged to work together to accomplish a goal. Students learn sportsmanship and rising above the emotion of competition, to realize the value of positive social interaction with their friends and classmates. Students learn the fundamentals of the sports we participate in, so they can enjoy the activity with a certain level of confidence.
